Cheese twists
The combination of flaky, buttery pastry and sharp, tangy cheese makes the cheese twists a delicate crunchy delight. Using different cheeses adds a bit of variety. Serve them in a newspaper for the full effect.
Ingredients
- 1 medium egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1x flaky pastry recipe
- 250g Parmesan and mozzarella cheese, grated and mixed
- 1 medium egg, beaten, tae glaze

This recipe for scones comes straight from Maw Broon’s cook book and be assured that they are as light as a feather. They are fantastic with butter or piled with clotted cream and strawberry jam!
Ingredients
- 450g plain flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 55g unsalted butter, cubed
- 2 teaspoons caster sugar
- 250ml milk

It’s well worth mastering this basic bread recipe: once you do, the possibilities are endless. Nobody can resist the smell of freshly baked bread so be prepared for everyone to enjoy it as soon as it’s out the oven!

- 1½ teaspoons dried yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 300ml lukewarm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
