1. Preheat non-fan oven tae 220°C
  2. Line two baking trays with baking paper
  3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt intae a large bowl
  4. Add butter and rub intae mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs
  5. Stir in sugar
  6. Gradually add milk until the mixture becomes a soft dough (ye may not need a’ the milk)
  7. Roll oot dough mixture onto a lightly floured surface until around 1½” in thickness
  8. Cut oot scones wi’ a round or fluted pastry cutter and place onto prepared baking trays
  9. Brush the top of the scones with a little milk
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 tae 12 minutes or until golden-brown
  11. Cool on a wire rack or serve hot

  • 2 teaspoons caster sugar
  • 250ml milk
