Scones
Method
- Preheat non-fan oven tae 220°C
- Line two baking trays with baking paper
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt intae a large bowl
- Add butter and rub intae mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs
- Stir in sugar
- Gradually add milk until the mixture becomes a soft dough (ye may not need a’ the milk)
- Roll oot dough mixture onto a lightly floured surface until around 1½” in thickness
- Cut oot scones wi’ a round or fluted pastry cutter and place onto prepared baking trays
- Brush the top of the scones with a little milk
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 tae 12 minutes or until golden-brown
- Cool on a wire rack or serve hot

- 450g plain flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 55g unsalted butter, cubed
- 2 teaspoons caster sugar
- 250ml milk
